After an adventurous life and varied career, whilst raising her two sons, Beryl returned to education to pursue her passion for textiles and design. She first completed a foundation course at a local college, and then went on to study for a degree in Textiles and Surface Design at Bucks New University (majoring in knit).
Following graduation Beryl was asked to give a talk about her work to other design students. The tutor thought her speech so inspirational she was asked if she would like to come and teach Design Principals. Although she rose through the ranks and enjoyed teaching the students, she left in 2009 to pursue her own design business.
Beryl has a love of all things vintage, enjoying a romanticised view of days gone by. This love of the wartime community spirit led her to assemble her trusty band of knitters and start her Beryl Ware family.
“We make life far too complicated for ourselves and should remember the simple things in life.......like tea and cake!”
Beryl still has a passion for learning and has recently updated her Design Portfolio with Garden Design.
Devastatingly Beryl lost the love of her life in 2009 and it is no coincidence that this was the same year she left teaching to pursue her design career.
“You never know what is round the corner so you just have to make the most of love and life whilst you have it.”
